An authentic, unrelenting, and strangely exhilarating episodic portrait of young addicts in Edinburgh. Rents, Sick Boy, Mother Superior, Swanney, Spuds, and Seeker are as unforgettable a clutch of junkies, rude boys, and psychos as are ever likely to be found in fiction.

Don't Just Throw Momma From the Train... Throw This "Book" Too!
Jan 23, 2003

Pros: it could be longer (thank god it's not)
Cons: brain-dead characters, confusing point-of-view issues, super annoying accent dialect, no plot.
Bottom Line: I wasted eight months of my life reading this pointless book.

Fear and Loathing In Edinburgh
Oct 10, 2003

Pros: Eye popping revelation of heroine addiction and its consequences. A gritty realistic read.
Cons: Difficult language, and that is the only hurdle the reader must jump over.
Bottom Line: This is a page turner. Tasty. Satisfying. And just try recommending it to friends. They'll hate it and you'll be hip, sensitive and intellectually superior.
