Pros: Beautifully written, meticulously researched, packed with interesting and provocative ideas and sharply-drawn, memorable characters.
Cons: Deliberate pacing and technical detail may bore all but the most avid science fiction fans.
Bottom Line: Highly recommended to all fans of hard sf.
