Riverworld: An Atheist's Riparian Eschatology
Feb 22, 2007

Pros: Nostalgia: It attains the flavor of golden age pulp.
Cons: Artlessly written.
Bottom Line: The Sci Fi Channel only aired one episode of its Riverworld adaptation. I'll only read one book of Farmer's five-book series.

Pros: A sweeping concept; introduces lots of mysteries to perplex you
Cons: Some of those mysteries received very unsatisfactory resolutions (if any) in later books
Bottom Line: A must read for SF fans, in my opinion. Also fascinating for inspiration if you're a roleplayer who wants a campaign setting where any historical figure can be encountered.
